PREVIEW: Cross Country Gears Up for Provincials Saturday
The Storyline
With three races under its belt, Humber cross country will compete for a provincial title on Saturday at Shade's Mills Conservation Area in Cambridge. Conestoga College will host the 2023 OCAA Championships.
Tune-Up
The men's squad finished on the podium twice this season, with third-place finishes at Fanshawe and Centennial. Blaise Uglow has paced the way for the team with two top-10 finishes this season.

The women's squad has been consistent all season, finishing fourth in all four races. Rookie Leah Durnford has been exceptional this season, with three top-10 finishes – including two top-3 finishes this year.

Humber at Provincials
Humber women have captured seven team titles, including three straight from 2014-16. The Hawks own four individual titles as well, with the last coming from Lindsay Webster in 2014. The women's squad hasn't been on the OCAA podium since 2018.
The men's program owns two provincial titles (2006 and 2015). Humber has two individual titles with Anthony Biggar winning gold in 1995 and Colin Murray-Lawson in 2005.
Led by Mason Biswas' ninth-place finish last year, the Hawks captured the bronze medal and returned to the podium for the first time since 2016.
In the Rankings
The women's squad is currently ranked 11th in the CCAA rankings, while the men's team is seventh.
Fanshawe is the top-ranked OCAA women's team at number three, while Mohawk sit atop the standings on the men's side.
