Vozza, Lopardo lead Cross Country in final tune-up

SCARBOROUGH – In the final tune-up race before provincials, Humber cross country competed at the Centennial Invitational on Oct. 16 at the Ashtonbee Campus.

The women's six-kilometre race was highlighted by rookie Sofia Vozza's sixth-place finish, as the North York native has finished in the top-10 in both competitions this season. Megan Raso also improved on her first race, finishing in 17th place. Niagara Falls native Kayleigh Bush raced in her first competition this year, finishing 26th.

The men's squad finished fourth for the second straight competition and was once again led by team captain Umberto Lopardo with a seventh-place finish. Brendan Woolley and Julian Zamparo finished 25th and 26th, both recording new personal bests in the race.

What's Next?

Humber cross country will compete in the 2021 OCAA Championship, hosted by Humber College. The event will be held at the Albion Hills Conservation Area on October 30.
