No. 2 Women's Volleyball heading to the final eight tournament

ETOBICOKE – No. 2 Humber women's volleyball opened the 2022 OCAA postseason with a quick victory, defeating the Loyalist Lancers (5-14, 7th East) Saturday afternoon at the North Campus Gym. The final set scores were 25-15, 25-11, and 25-17.

Cassidy Andrews led the Hawks in scoring on the day, finishing with six kills, three aces, and three blocks.

The Hawks cruised to a first-set victory, using a six-point service run from Te-anna Stephenson to extend their lead to eight. Up by nine at set point, Leah Serlin's big kill secured the win for the Hawks, 25-15.

Led by Stephanie Armstrong to begin the second set, the Hawks jumped out to an 8-1 lead. Another nine-point run by the Hawks with Andrews at the line saw Humber's lead extend to 16 before taking the second set, 25-11.

Loyalist showed some fight in the final set, jumping out to a three-point lead, but that was as far as the Hawks would allow. A Hannah Manners service run gave the Hawks the lead at 12-11 and never looked back.

What's Next?

No. 2 Humber will head to Sheridan College for the final tournament beginning Feb. 23. The Hawks will take on the Niagara Knights (12-7, 4th West) in the quarter-final round, with the first serve set for 1 p.m.
