Statement from the Humber Department of Athletics
ETOBICOKE – Humber Athletics discovered that a student-athlete of the women's volleyball team became ineligible for competition due to being academically ineligible, a violation of OCAA Policy Article 12, rule 12.10.6. Humber officials self-disclosed the infraction to the OCAA on February 15 upon discovering the violation.
The student-athlete competed in three OCAA contests, and as a result, the team will forfeit the following games:
- Jan. 14, 2023, vs. Boréal
- Feb. 5, 2023, vs. Sheridan
- Feb. 9, 2023, vs. Redeemer
Humber Athletics takes full responsibility for playing an ineligible player in three matches during the winter of 2023 and accepts the ruling by the OCAA to forfeit the three matches.
We are maintaining the confidentiality of the individual as we would in any circumstance involving a student.
