The Storyline

No. 2 Humber women's volleyball look to wrap up another perfect regular-season Saturday evening when the St. Clair Saints (13-3, 3rd West) visit the North Campus Gym. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.

Last Time Out

The Hawks rolled to their 17th victory of the season, sweeping Redeemer (8-10, 6th West) on Feb. 9 at home. All-star Erika Dodd led the way with nine points, while Cassidy Andrews added eight points of her own.

Previous Meeting

Humber recorded its sixth win of the season down in Windsor, as Ara Telan led the Hawks with 18 points in a 3-1 victory on Nov. 19.

Scouting St. Clair
  • The Saints enter the match with four straight wins, currently second in the west division.
  • A win will lock up the second seed for the Saints and loss would most likely result in falling to the third seed.
  • St. Clair snapped Humber's OCAA record of 155 consecutive matches in 2018.
  • The Saints have won two bronze medals since 2018.
  • Kiana Huggins is 11th in the league in scoring.
Seniors Night

Alex Krstonosic and Stephanie Armstrong will be competing in their final regular season matches Saturday night. Krstonosic, a two-time CCAA Academic All-Canadian, has played in 54 career regular-season matches and has captured two OCAA titles.

Stephanie Armstrong, a four-year transfer from Nipissing, will finish the season as Humber's assist leader.

Career Year

Ara Telan, Keyome Ellis, Hannah Manners, Alexandria Dube, Erika Dodd, and Cassidy Andrews have all set new career highs in points.

Ranked

After opening the season as the fifth-ranked team in the country, the Hawks are currently second, trailing powerhouse VIU – the four-time defending champions. VIU lost to Camosun on Feb. 9 and now Humber is the last remaining undefeated team in the country.

Perfection

Humber is looking to complete its 11th perfect regular season during the Coach Wilkins era. In 21 seasons, Coach Wilkins could have more perfect seasons (11) than seasons with at least one loss (10).

Set Piece

The sets of Sydney Ferguson and Stephanie Armstrong have helped Humber's offence lead the league in swing percentage at .311.

Alone at the top

In Humber's win over Fanshawe on Jan. 19, Chris Wilkins became the first coach at Humber to win 400 career games.

Streaking

The Hawks have won 25 consecutive matches against the OCAA.

What's Next?

No. 2 Humber will open the 2023 OCAA Postseason on Feb. 18 for a crossover game at the North Campus Gym. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.
