Women's Volleyball fall in the bronze semifinal round at nationals

Match 10: Lynx d'Édouard-Montpetit 3, Humber Hawks 2

The first five-set match of the championship came on Sunday afternoon when the Cégep d'Édouard-Montpetit Lynx and Humber College Hawks battled at the McMillan Centre for Community Engagement in Charlottetown, PEI.

The Hawks opened the match with a 26-24 opening set win before dropping the second, 25-21.  A Humber third set victory of 27-25 was again followed by a Lynx win in the fourth, 25-21.  The Lynx outlasted the Hawks in the fifth, winning 15-11.

Statistically, Oriane Racine (Lynx) led the way with 19 kills in the match, while Ariane Provencher (Lynx) had 50 assists. Alex Lachapelle (Humber) had a match-high 29 digs. Five players each had two service aces in the match, including Provencher, Racine and Juliette Lajeunesse from the Lynx, and Alex Bartmann and Hannah Manners from the Hawks.

The 4Imprint Players of the Match were Béatrice Dubreuil (Lynx) and Alex Lachapelle (Humber).

Match 8: Douglas Royals 3, Humber Hawks 0

The Douglas College Royals have made it an all PACWEST conference National Championship Game on Sunday after advancing with a straight-sets win over the Humber College Hawks.

Set wins of 25-20, 25-13 and 29-27 gave the Royals the victory on Saturday evening.

Talia Attieh (Douglas) led the way offensively in the match with 15 kills, while teammate Jane Kepler recorded a match-high 28 assists.  Olivia Cesaretti (Douglas) picked up three service aces in the win while Alex Lachapelle (Humber) recorded 12 digs.

Jane Kepler (Douglas) and Alex Krstonosic (Humber) were the 4Imprint Players of the Match.
