No. 4 Women's Volleyball cruises to begin postseason

ETOBICOKE — No. 4 Humber women's volleyball opened the 2022 postseason run with a win, defeating the Conestoga Condors (3-6, 8th West) Thursday evening at the North Campus Gym, 3-0. The final set scores were 25-18, 25-18 and 25-17.

Erika Dodd led the Hawks in scoring on the night finishing with 12 points coming on nine kills, two aces and one block.

Humber dominated much of the first set jumping out to a 9-2 lead early on. Conestoga would fight to keep the set close but ultimately dropped the opener by seven points.

The second set was tight early on as both teams traded points, sitting tied at eight points apiece. The Hawks would take control of the set from that point on quickly building a seven-point lead and carrying it through to set point.

With Alex Bartmann at the line, Humber opened up the third with a 6-1 run. Bartmann delivered three aces during the run as the Hawks took control of the set early. Humber never took their foot off of the gas, coasting to the victory in straight sets.

No. 4 Humber volleyball will host the Seneca Sting (5-4, 4th East) on Mar. 12 in the OCAA quarter-finals. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.
