Rugby Sevens opens the season with two victories

MARKHAM – Humber rugby sevens kicked off the 2021 campaign Saturday afternoon at Fletchers Field. The Hawks opened the doubleheader with a win over Seneca, 50-5, followed by a victory over Loyalist, 26-5.

With the departure of the top-two scorers in OCAA history, Humber's offence looked like it hadn't skipped a beat in game one. Against the 2017 champions, the Hawks made an immediate statement to the league, showing they will once again be contenders for the provincial titles.

After two matches, Humber's offence has scored the most points in the league, while the defence has allowed the fewest amount.

The return of former national team player Daniella Grant was a big spark for Humber's scoring, as the captain led the team with 25 points on the day.

Game One: Humber 50, Seneca 5

Daniella Grant: Three tries, 15 points
