Hayley McCallum tees off at the Durham Invitational

McCallum, Surjoprajogo lead Humber Golf to tournament victory

WHITBY – The defending OCAA champions kicked off the 2021 golf season with a tournament win at the Durham Invitational. The Hawks captured the team title by ten strokes over St. Clair, carding a combined round of 16-over par (160).

Humber finished with three players on the podium, including two-time All-Canadian Hayley McCallum and OCAA All-Ontario Elaine Surjoprajogo. The duo tied for first in the event, finishing eight-over par (80) at Lakeridge Links Golf Course. For McCallum, it was her third individual title in three seasons, while Surjoprajogo recorded her second victory in as many seasons.

First-year player Madison Ouellette finished third on the day, shooting a 13-over par (85), three strokes behind second place.

Natasha Stasiuk, who previously competed for Ottawa University, carded a round of 92 in her first event for the Hawks.

What's Next?

The Hawks will now head to the 2021 OCAA Championship hosted by Sault College. The three-round tournament will begin on September 19 at Crimson Ridge Golf Course.
