BLAIR TO JOIN MEN'S VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM

ETOBICOKE, ON: Jake Blair, a six-foot-two right side hitter from St. Marcellinius High School in Mississauga, will be joining the men's volleyball program for the 2016-17 OCAA season, Hawks head coach Wayne Wilkins announced Wednesday.

"Jake was a great find for us," Coach Wilkins said.  "He has a tremendous amount of passion for volleyball and for Humber College."

"I chose Humber because I have heard exceptional things about their academics," said Blair.  "The programs they offer do not compare to any other institute."

No stranger to success, Blair was a captain of his high school team and club team, Pakmen Black.  As a member of the 15U Pakmen team, Jake and his teammates were national champions.  Blair's former coach was Humber alumnus Derek Quinn, an invaluable setter who led Humber to the 2012 national championships.

Blair will be enrolled in the massage therapy program, a three-year advanced diploma.

"I've always been fascinated with the anatomy of the human body and how it works," added Blair.  "I also have a passion for health and fitness; that's why I wanted to come to Humber College."

To Blair, success on the court is as important as off the court.

"I want to keep my marks up as high as possible.  Working hard in the gym and in the library will lead to success on and off the court."
