LIGHT APPEARS FOR HAWKS DESPITE 3-0 LOSS TO NIAGARA

WELLAND, ON: The Humber Hawks men's volleyball team, shorthanded after the start of the new semester, have already made solid strides forward despite their second loss of this term.

Niagara won 3-0 on home court, by scores of (29-27, 25-13, 25-20) on Wednesday night.

The first set went well into extra points, with the Knights have to score 29 to win. This set was a as close as it appears, with only a couple of points separating the two teams throughout. The Hawks put themselves in a position to steal the first set, but were unable to close.

The second set was one that the Hawks were unable to compete in, and this effort could be directly related to the effort in set one.

The third and final set saw the Hawks respond and score 20 points, but still unable to nab a set.

Although the loss drops the Hawks record to 7-4, they showed that they can compete with the best teams in the OCAA. A couple of wins and they will advance to the playoffs. If the effort and coming together as a new squad continues, the future looks bright.

Humber will take to the home court for a key game on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 pm, as the St. Clair Saints roll into the Humber Athletic Centre.
