Luca Uccello named 2023 Humber Male Athlete of the Year

ETOBICOKE - After representing Canada and playing professionally with TFC II, Luca Uccello joined the Hawks in 2022 and made an immediate impact. After capturing the national and provincial gold medal in his first season in the navy and gold, the Markham native stepped his game up even further this season, becoming just the fourth player in program history to receive CCAA Player of the Year honours.

The midfielder finished the regular season with ten tallies and set a new OCAA record with 12 assists. However, his most crucial assist came on the biggest stage when his team needed him the most. In extra time of the national championship match, he assisted on the game-winning tally from Federico Leal, helping the Hawks successfully defend their title.

Uccello's achievements go beyond the soccer pitch, and for the second straight year, he earned CCAA Academic All-Canadian honours.

The Hawks never lost a match once Uccello joined the squad, concluding his career with an all-time record of 27-0-1.
