Men's Rugby open 2021 campaign with win over Sheridan

ETOBICOKE – Humber rugby opened the 2021 season at home Saturday afternoon, defeating the Sheridan Bruins, 36-6.

In front of a raucous home crowd, the Hawks jumped out to an early lead in the opening half scoring a try and convert on their first possession. Sheridan remained within striking distance for much of the half, scoring two converts to make it a one-point game.

Humber answered late in the frame however converting two tries capped off by a great run by Curtis Sandiford to take a 17-6 lead into the break.

The second half was all Humber as they dominated the time of possession, shutting out the Bruins the rest of the way.

The Hawks added 19-points in the second, highlighted by tries from Zack Shurtleff and Richard Sheffield to capture their first win of the season by a score of, 36-6.
