Lambo showing out after hitting a triple

DLC's career night not enough for Men's Basketball

ETOBICOKE – Despite a career-high 34 points from Dwayne Lambert-Cadore on seniors night, Humber men's basketball was again unable to close out late, falling to the Sheridan Bruins (12-6, 3rd West) Thursday evening, 102-92.

Lambo's 34 points were a game-high, while rookie Nathan Waithe was the only other double-digit scorer for Humber, finishing with 18 points off of the bench.

In the 109th edition of 'the Game', the Hawks once again started the game off slow, allowing the Bruins to the game on a 17-3 run over the first six minutes of game time. Nathan Waithe provided a spark off of the bench, hitting two triples to help stop the run and cut into Sheridan's large lead. After ten minutes of play, the Bruins led by eight, 26-18.

The Bruins would extend their lead to 14 before the Hawks responded with a run of their own. Over a three-minute span, Humber used a 16-2 run to tie the game at 37. A layup from Jamani Barrett with 18 seconds left gave the Hawks a three-point lead heading into the break, 48-45.

The third quarter was all Dwayne Lambert-Cadore, playing his final game at the North Campus Gym. The fifth-year senior scored 14 of Humber's 26 points in the frame, shooting six-for-seven from the floor.

Humber's fourth-quarter woes appeared once again as the Bruins dominated the final six minutes of the game. Sheridan closed out the game on a 20-8 run, cruising to the ten-point victory. Humber's defence allowed the Bruins to shoot 11-for-15 (73.3 per cent) in the frame, earning their fifth win over Humber in their seven meetings.
