DeQuon Cascart named Humber Male Athlete of the Year

Senior DeQuon Cascart left his best season for last, helping the Hawks capture the program's seventh national title on home court and earning championship MVP honours.

As the most decorated basketball program in the country, Cascart became just the second player in team history to be named the OCAA Player of the Year since its inception during the 2003-04 season. The North York native was the leading scorer on the highest-scoring offence in the province – becoming just the seventh player in program history to average over 20-plus points in a season.

Trailing late to rival Sheridan on the road and with Humber's unbeaten streak on the line, Cascart went on a personal 5-0 run to secure the come from behind victory and finish with a career-high 31 points. Cascart also garnered CCAA All-Canadian honours – the 14th selection in team history and the first in 17 seasons.

Cascart concludes his career third all-time in scoring for Humber basketball.
