In loving memory of Kenny Ejim - 1994 to 2022

In Memoriam – Kenny Ejim (1994-2022)

Kenny Ejim competed for the Humber men's basketball team from 2015-18, leading the Hawks to three OCAA provincial podium finishes.

ETOBICOKE – The Humber Department of Athletics is mourning the sudden loss of basketball star Kenny Ejim, who tragically passed away this week in Bahrain. He was 27 years old.

Ejim competed for the Hawks for three seasons, helping Humber capture the 2015 CCAA national championship in Hamilton. After a standout season in 2018, he went to play professional basketball in the CEBL and overseas – most recently with Al-Najma in the Bahrain Premier League.

"I am absolutely crushed for the Ejim family," said Humber coach Omar Miles. "The world lost an incredible son, brother, teammate and friend. We ask the entire Humber community to keep the Ejim family in their thoughts and prayers."

"The Hawks family has suffered a profound loss," Director of Athletics Ray Chateau said. "We send all our prayers, love and support to the Ejim family and will do everything we can to support them, our alumni, and our student-athletes as we all process and work through this tragedy."

A native of Brampton, the Ejim name and sport of basketball go hand-in-hand. He worked hard and developed himself into one of the biggest stars for the Humber basketball program – establishing himself as the best athlete any time he stepped on the court. Kenny's infectious smile and larger-than-life personality made him a great teammate, and an even better friend. He will be truly missed.
