Humber softball (9-3, 2nd OCAA) will conclude its regular-season home schedule Wednesday against Mohawk (2-10, 7th OCAA) at Connorvale Park. Game one is set for 6 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.
Wednesday will be the last regular-season home game for Alexa Vassos, Kadyn Wotton, Hayley Pasma, Breanna Oliver, and Jessica MacPherson. The group helped Humber capture the 2019 provincial championship and has played in 193 regular season games wearing the Humber 'H', combined.
- The Mountaineers rank last in the OCAA in every major offensive statistical category.
- The Hawks are 18-0 all-time against Mohawk at home – including a nine-game overall win streak against the Mountaineers.
- Michaela Walker is Mohawk's offensive leader, pacing the club with a .417 batting average.
- As a pitching staff, Mohawk has a combined 10.29 earned run average.
Humber rolled Mohawk on Sept. 25, putting up 17 runs in a six-inning mercy. Rookie Christina D'Angelo and Breanna Oliver paced Humber's offence with five RBIs, each. Kadyn Wotton fired six shutout innings for her second victory of the season.
At nationals in British Columbia, the Hawks slugged eight home runs in six games, highlighted by four big flies from Hayley Pasma.
Pasma and Alexis Ferreira currently sit on three home runs this season. The next big fly from one of these players will set a new program single-season record.
Humber is averaging the highest stolen bases per game this season, with Christina D'Angelo's six thefts the fourth-most in the province.
The Hawks will head on the road to conclude the season with a four-game road trip against Seneca (3-11, 6th OCAA) on Oct. 14 and Fanshawe (6-6, 3rd OCAA) on Oct. 16.
