KELOWNA, B.C. – Humber softball concluded day one of the 2021 CCSA national championship with two wins, getting victories over the St. Clair Saints and Regina Cougars. Humber's offence continued to stay hot, recording 18 hits and 18 runs on the day.

Game One: Humber 7, St. Clair 6

The Hawks opened the tournament against one of the hottest teams in the country, as the Saints entered the championship with a 16-0 record in the OCAA.

Alexa Vassos opened the scoring in the second inning, taking St. Clair's ace deep to centre field for a two-run home run. Michaela Tuck extended the lead to three the next inning, hitting an RBI single to the right field to score Alexis Ferreira.

After St. Clair got on the board in the fifth, Hayley Pasma responded in the home half of the inning. The first baseman slugged her fourth home run of the year to right field, extending Humber's lead to four.

With the best offence in the OCAA, Humber's lead was never safe and the Saints responded in the seventh, scoring four runs to tie the game.
