The Department of Athletics, Recreation and Leisure Education provides job opportunities for many Humber students each year. Depending on your area of expertise and your time availability, we have the job to suit your needs.

All Humber College and University of Guelph-Humber students who will be full-time in the Fall semester are eligible to apply!

Hawks Sports Network - Athletics Communications

This position is key in publicizing select varsity sports for the Humber Department of Athletics (HDA), which has a 20-sport athletics program. Handles sports public relations, media relations, and communications and information for assigned sports. Promotes positive branding, press coverage, strategic communications, social media, multimedia and messaging to various constituents, using a variety of traditional media as well as new media outlets. Constituents include prospective student-athletes; game-day attendees, alumni/ae, fans, and the College community. Works with select sports to ensure that appropriate Athletics storylines are created and communicated; statistics, schedules, rosters, game recaps and other information is communicated and created. This position greatly enhances both the external and internal image of the Department. 

All HSN positions are part-time positions available in the middle of August to April with the work taking place primarily on weeknights and weekends during the varsity season.

Examples of available positions:
  1. Social Media – assisting with day-to-day projects and initiatives in support of HDA’s communications, messaging, and branding goals.
  2. Website – create content, maintenance, and accuracy of the Department website (www.humberhawks.ca). 
  3. Digital Content Creator – including, but not limited to: writers, vloggers, and video editing.
  4. Graphic Design – create and produce content through Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.).
  5. Broadcast Crew – live stream set-up for Humber home games and provincial tournaments. Creating an engaging live stream for Humber fans across the country.

Gameday Operations

Varsity Gameday Operations is now accepting applications for the 2023-24 varsity season.  Positions range from setup, in-house announcer, to table staff and statistics. 

All varsity operations jobs are part-time positions available in the middle of August – March with the work taking place primarily on weeknights and weekends during the varsity season.
