Humber Varsity Vaccination Policy

The Humber Department of Athletics (HDA) is committed to ensuring a safe varsity athletics experience.  Participating in varsity athletics is a privilege that is associated with unique risks of COVID-19 transmission arising out of practice, travel, and competition. 

For the 2021-22 academic year, Humber College is requiring all student-athletes to be vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine in order to participate in varsity athletics.

All athletes should be fully vaccinated by September 16, 2021.  Athletes who have not established they have met the requirement by September 16, 2021, will not be permitted to attend practice, travel or participate in competitive play.

The HDA is requesting student-athletes to submit a copy of their vaccination record(s) to Ray Chateau, Director Athletics & Recreation at ray.chateau@humber.ca or Michael Kopinak, Associate Director Athletics & Recreation at michael.kopinak@humber.ca. 

EXEMPTIONS

Exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccine requirement may be granted for valid reasons under the Human Rights Code.
