Humber sets CCAA record with 23 Academic All-Canadian selections

TORONTO – The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) announced the 2022-23 CCAA Academic All-Canadian award recipients Wednesday, and Humber Athletics proudly led the country for the third straight year. Humber's 23 selections were the most by any institution in CCAA history and the first time the Hawks have received 20-plus selections.

The CCAA Academic All-Canadian Award, presented by Brandew Athlete, is the CCAA's most prestigious student-athlete honour, epitomizing a commitment to academic success and athletic achievement.

As part of the partnership, CCAA Academic All-Canadians receive complimentary access to the Brandnew Elite Athlete Transformation Program.

Since 1997, the Hawks have reached double-digit selections four times - all occurring since 2018. Due to this incredible success in the classroom and in sport, Humber was once again the proud recipient of the CCAA Academic All-Canadian Recognition Award for the third straight season, which is presented each year to the institution with the most student-athlete award recipients. Mohawk College was second with 14 selections, while Augustana and Holland finished with ten.

Humber curling paced the way an incredible seven selections - more than 43 CCAA institutions finished with. Men's and women's soccer finished also finished with a new program record, receiving five selections each.

With the continued success of the Varsity Academic Centre – led by academic coordinators Mallory Lawton and Monique Haan – Humber Varsity once again saw its most prosperous season in the classroom.
