Humber leads the nation with 15 Academic All-Canadian selections for the second straight season
TORONTO – The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) announced the 2021-22 CCAA Academic All-Canadian award recipients today and Humber Varsity proudly led the country for the second straight year with 15 selections.
The CCAA Academic All-Canadian award, presented by Brandew Athlete, is the CCAA's most prestigious student-athlete honour, epitomizing a commitment to academic success and athletic achievement.
As part of a new partnership, CCAA Academic All-Canadians receive complimentary access to the Brandnew Elite Athlete Transformation Program.
Since 1997, the Hawks have reached double-digit selections three times, tying its program record of 15 honourees from the 2019-20 season. Due to this incredible success in the classroom and in sport, Humber Varsity is once again the proud recipient of the CCAA Academic All-Canadian Recognition Award, which is presented each year to the institution with the most student-athlete award recipients. Mohawk College and SAIT tied for second in the country with 13 selections.
Humber curling and men's soccer paced the way with three selections each, while badminton, women's basketball and women's volleyball followed close behind with two.
With the continued success of the Varsity Academic Centre – led by academic coordinators Mallory Lawton and Monique Haan – Humber Varsity once again saw one of its most prosperous seasons in the classroom.
