Humber Athletics mourns the passing of Evelyn Bialek

ETOBICOKE – The Humber Athletics Department is saddened to learn of the passing of Evelyn Bialek, wife of retired sports information director Jim Bialek, and sends their deepest condolences to the Bialek family during this difficult time. Jim and Evelyn were married for 38 years and were blessed with two children and two grandchildren.

Bialek and Humber have been synonymous for over four decades, as the pair met at a Humber hockey game in 1979 and were married a few years later in 1983. From that moment, you would be hard-pressed not to find Evelyn sitting courtside cheering on the women's volleyball team, or battling the elements to watch Humber baseball and softball compete for provincial titles.

Evelyn, a treasured member of the Etobicoke community and a wonderful ambassador for Humber College will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation.

For those who would like to share a message of condolence or fond memories, Humber Athletics has created a virtual card that will go to the Bialek family later this week.
