Badminton sweeps Humber Student-Athlete of the Week honours

After a successful weekend at the 2022 OCAA Badminton Championships in Scarborough, Victoria Duong, Praanjal Taneja, Airi Moromisato, and Sirapob Kongubon have earned Humber Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honours for the week of Feb. 28 to March 6.

No stranger to provincial titles, Victoria Duong captured her second provincial title for Humber along with rookie teammate Praanjal Taneja. The duo captured Humber's fifth straight women's doubles title - and the ninth title in program history.

The pair finished the tournament with a 5-0 record without dropping a set and winning by an average set score of 21-8.

The rookie duo dominated the provincial circuit, capturing Humber's first mixed doubles title since 2018. The two junior national team players went undefeated in the tournament without dropping a set, defeating Boreal in the finals, 21-14, 21-6. 

The pair finished provincials with a 6-0 record with an average set score win of 21-7. They will now head to Alberta for a chance to win the program's first national title in mixed since 2015.
