ETOBICOKE - No. 15 women's volleyball finished off the regular season with five straight wins, defeating the St. Clair Saints (12-5, 3rd West) in four sets on Seniors Day. The final set scores were 21-25, 25-14, 25-11, and 25-22.

Humber had to work from behind from the get-go in the opening set Sunday afternoon, as back-to-back blocks from St. Clair's front line made it hard to attack. Remaining five points behind throughout the set, the Hawks called their first timeout at 6-11. Attacks from Shiann Williams and Hayley Henderson kept Humber within an arm's reach of the Saints, who continued to keep the pressure on the court. Unable to pull in front of the Saints, Humber dropped the first set at 21-25.

The Hawks brought a new form of hype as they entered the second and third sets, with kills by Megan Hunt giving the team early leads. Julia Watson and Alex Bartmann put in work from the service line, going on multiple runs to maintain the Hawks dominance on the scoreboard. Alex Lachapelle and Emma Heeney were crucial to Humber's defence, picking up everything that the Saints sent over. Humber hit double-digit leads in both sets, with kills by Cassidy Andrews and Julia Watson finishing it off at 25-14 and 25-11.

Service errors made it difficult for either team to earn solidifying runs, as both teams slowly climbed the scoreboard in the fourth set. Humber's middles became the game plan, with kills by Shiann Williams and Alex Krstonosic catching St. Clair sleeping. Serves by Megan Hunt escalated the Hawks into a four-point lead, pushing the Saints into a timeout. St. Clair reentered the court ready to compete, bringing the score to a points difference and forcing Humber to buckle down at 23-22. Shiann Williams showed off her height as monstrous back to back blocks to finish off the game at 25-22.

Julia Watson was the lead scorer for Humber with 11 kills, two aces and a block. Alex Krstonosic followed behind with nine kills and three blocks.
