VAUGHAN, Ont – Humber women's soccer will return to the pitch Mar. 21, in pursuit of its third consecutive OCAA indoor provincial championship. The tournament will be hosted by Humber College at the Ontario Soccer Centre and each match will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.
The Hawks cruised through regionals with a perfect 3-0 record, outscoring their opponents 13-0, with all-star keeper Vanessa Fiore recording three clean sheets. Claudia Piazza led the team on the day with four goals, while Giulia Zanardi and Rebecca Spratt chipped in with two, each. Single tallies went to Dominika Philip, Samantha Gillingham, Breanna Senfner, Lily Campbell and Shaniece Bennett.
Since 1999, Humber has won nine provincials titles and will be looking to three-peat for the third time in program history.
The Hawks open pool play at 9 a.m. against George Brown, concluding with Fanshawe at noon and Sheridan at 2 p.m.
