Humber made it a priority to shutdown Sheridan's leading scorer Theresa Brown in the first half. Brown, an OCAA second team all-star was held scoreless through the first two quarters, missing all seven shots from the floor. Thanks to their strong play over the first twenty minutes, the Hawks took a 22-point lead into the half.

The Bruins made an effort to chip their way back into the game, nearly matching their point total from the first half in the third quarter alone. Unfortunately for Sheridan, the Hawks were equally as good in the quarter finishing with a game-high 25 points in the third. At the end of three Humber took a commanding 27-point lead into the fourth quarter.
