The Storyline
No. 14 Humber women's basketball (3-0, 2nd West) returns to the North Campus Gym Nov. 6 for its 2019 home opener against No. 5 Fanshawe (3-0, 2nd West). Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.

The Matchup
The top-ranked programs in the province will meet for the first time this season. Humber owns a 19-9 (.679) regular-season home record against the Falcons – including wins in five of their last six meetings.

Last Season
In the 2018 season opener, Humber fell to the Falcons on the road – snapping its OCAA record 81-game win streak. During Humber's record streak, the Hawks captured two national titles and four provincial championships.

Scouting Fanshawe

  • The Falcons are the defending OCAA Champions and they finished fifth at nationals last season.
  • Fanshawe is leading the league in three-point shooting, hitting at a 39.0 percent (30-for-77) clip from deep.
  • Through three games, Chuot Angou is leading the team in scoring, averaging 18.3 ppg.

Home Debut
Teresa Da Silva, Jeylinh Bui, Kia Watt, Ivana Twumasi, Farah Alfar, Kiara Thomas, Teija Wareham, and Cassandra Cushnie will be making their North Campus regular-season debuts in the game.

At the Helm
Ajay Sharma returns to the sidelines for his ninth season as the all-time winningest head coach in program history.  Sharma has directed the Hawks to a period of unprecedented prosperity in the form of four CCAA tournament appearances – including the first national championship in program history – and four OCAA provincial titles.  Sharma owns a 164-26 career record.

Home Sweet Home
The Hawks are 224-46 (.830) all-time in the regular season when playing at home. Under head coach Ajay Sharma, Humber is 74-7 (.913) at the North Campus Gym.
