Women's Basketball Continues Non-Conference Schedule With Oakland University

ETOBICOKE – Fresh of its trip to Taiwan to compete in the 2019 BLIA Cup, the Humber women's basketball team will host the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies on August 10 at the North Campus Gym. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.
Located in Rochester, Michigan, the Golden Grizzlies compete in the Horizon League – an NCAA DI conference. Led by head coach Jeff Tungate, Oakland averaged 61.8 points-per-game last season and finished with a 6-24 overall record. Oakland features two Canadian student-athletes on its roster: forward Nikta Telesford (Pickering) and Brianna Breedy (Ajax).
With the departure of four seniors in April, the new-look Hawks will be led by fourth-year forward Miea Campbell-Johnson (12.5 PPG) and senior guard Jahnae Gyles (14.5 PPG). Head coach Ajay Sharma returns to the helm for his ninth season, with an all-time record of 161-26 (.861).
2019 recruits Ivana Twumasi, Teja Wareham, and Kia Watt will be making their North Campus debuts for Humber.
