Aleena Domingo became the second player in Humber history to join the 1,000 point club as the Humber Hawks set a new OCAA record for most points scored in a game.
ETOBICOKE, Ont – Aleena Domingo scored a game-high 20 points, becoming the second player in Humber history to join the 1,000-point club as top-ranked Humber beat Lambton, 125-29, Friday evening at the North Campus Gym.
Domingo recorded her fifth double-double of the season, grabbing a career-high 19 rebounds to become the first player in program history with 600 career boards.
Seven Humber (13-0, 1st West) student-athletes – including Domingo – scored in double figures. Ceejay Nofuente recorded her fourth triple-double of the season, finishing with 16 points, 12 steals, and ten assists. Makeba Taylor scored a career-high 16 points, while Jahnae Gyles added 15 points, including 5-of-9 from 3-point range. Felicia Velasquez added a season-high 11 points, and freshman Brittney English had a career-high 10 points.
After Lambton (0-13, 11th West) scored seven points in the opening 3:40, the Hawks went on a 28-0 run to end the opening frame leading 37-7.
Humber's top-ranked defence held the Lions to 17.9 percent (5-of-28) shooting from the floor in the first half, taking a 62-19 lead after 20 minutes of play.
The 125-26 victory at the North Campus Gym signified the most points scored by a team in OCAA women's basketball history.
