The Storyline
Top-ranked Humber women's basketball (11-0, 1st West) will begin its three-game homestand Saturday afternoon when Conestoga (3-8, 9th West) visits the North Campus Gym. The game will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network at 1 p.m. with Mohammad Khosroshahi and Matt Hammel on the call, and Danielle Dupuis reporting from the sidelines.
Sunshine State Success
Over the holiday break, the Hawks went to Florida to compete against some of the top junior college teams in the state. Humber left with a 2-1 record, including a 70-65 win over No. 16 Chipola (NJCAA). Ceejay Nofuente recorded a double-double, finishing with 25 points and 12 rebounds.
Last Time Out
Jahnae Gyles scored a season-high 28 points as Humber cruised to a 102-50 win over the Niagara Knights (6-3, 5th West) to close out the first half of the season. Ceejay Nofuente finished with 11 steals, her fourth double-digit steals game of the season.
Just Win
Humber established a new OCAA record Nov. 29, defeating UTM (3-6, 9th West), 94-54, at the North Campus Gym.
The win was Humber's 68th consecutive regular and postseason conference victory, breaking the mark of 67 established by head coach John MacInnis and the Algonquin Thunder from Nov. 2011 – Jan. 2015. The Hawks matched that mark with a 28-point win over No. 15 Fanshawe three days prior.
90s Babies
The Hawks have scored 90-plus points in ten consecutive games this season, the longest streak in the Ajay Sharma era. Humber's previous high was two (six different occasions).
Doubling Down
Humber has recorded 12 double-doubles in 11 games this season.
Scouting Conestoga
Making its return to OCAA basketball, Conestoga enters the second-half of the varsity season in ninth place. After beating Lambton on Nov. 17, the Condors have lost four consecutive games. Megan White leads the team in scoring and is averaging 17.6 points per game, the seventh-best mark in the league. White has recorded seven double-digit scoring games, including a 30-point effort against Sault College.
Last Meeting
Opening the 2017 campaign, Humber defeated the Condors 81-29 in Kitchener. Conestoga held the Hawks to their lowest point total of the season.
Two-time All-Canadian Ceejay Nofuente recorded her third career triple-double, finishing with 13 points, 11 assists, and ten rebounds.

On Nov. 11 against Redeemer, two-time CCAA Player of the Year Ceejay Nofuente became the first Humber women's basketball player to score 1,000 career points.

Since the beginning of the 2016 season, Humber has been the top-ranked program in the country.

The Hawks are in pursuit of their fourth consecutive provincial championship, looking to become only the second program in OCAA history to complete the feat. Algonquin won four straight from 2011 – 2014.
Exclusive Company
Sitting at 973 points, Aleena Domingo needs 27 points to become the second player in program history to score 1,000 career points.
The Toronto native needs 30 more rebounds to become the first player in program history to record 600 career rebounds as well.
All-Time List
Nofuente now sits sixth on the OCAA all-time scoring list with 1,126 career points, one point shy of Kelsey Hare's (Durham 2009-14) mark of 1,127.
At the Helm
Ajay Sharma returns to the sidelines for his seventh season and is six wins from tying Humber Hall of Famer Jim Henderson (1991 – 2000) as the all-time winningest head coach in program history.
Sharma has directed the Hawks to a period of unprecedented prosperity in the form of three consecutive CCAA tournament appearances – including the first national championship in program history – and three straight provincial titles. Sharma owns a 127-22 (.852) career record.
2018 OCAA Provincial Championship
Humber is the proud host of the 2018 OCAA Women's Basketball Provincial Championship March 2-4 at the North Campus Gym. All games will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.
