ETOBICOKE, Ont. — Humber women's basketball tied an OCAA record with its 67th consecutive conference win, routing No. 15 Fanshawe, 95-67, on Sunday afternoon.
Ceejay Nofuente scored 29 points, leading three players in double figures for the top-ranked Hawks, who matched Algonquin's record streak from November 2011 to January 2015.
Humber (9-0, 1st West) has a chance to break the record on Wednesday against UTM (2-5, 9th West) at the North Campus Gym.
"Some things you just can't explain; you just have to enjoy it," said head coach Ajay Sharma. "We don't set out to do these kinds of things. We don't set out to set records, break records or keep track of records. We set out to play as hard as we can, play with as much energy as we can."
Chuot Angou had 16 points on 6-of-13 from the floor for Fanshawe (7-2, 3rd West), which has failed to beat Humber in nine straight regular-season contests.
Aleena Domingo hit a layup to start a 7-0 opening run in the first two minutes of the game before Fanshawe was able to chip away and trim Humber's lead to four after ten minutes of play.
A three-pointer from Leticia Lopez capped a 5-0 run for Humber to begin the second frame, but Fanshawe was able to catch fire from the floor shooting 53.3 percent (8-of-15) including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Humber led 48-36 at the half.
The Hawks came out of the break and extinguished any chance Fanshawe had at making a comeback, shooting a game-high 55.0 percent (11-of-22) from the floor, extending their lead to 28 points.
Humber has not lost an OCAA regular or postseason game since a 4-point defeat at St. Clair on Nov. 8, 2014. Without that loss, the streak would sit at 71.
Two members of the current Humber team – Aleena Domingo and Ceejay Nofuente – have been part of the program for all 67 wins.
"It's just pretty cool that it's still going," Domingo said. "Because everyone is like, 'It's not going to end while we're here.' That's kind of the mentality."
Nofuente finished with her fourth double-double of the season, ending with a game-high 29 points, along with 11 assists, eight rebounds, and eight steals. Aleena Domingo added 19 points, while Miea Campbell-Johnson rounded out Humber's double-digit scorers with ten.
Humber Highlights:
- Freshman Brittney English finished with a season-high five points and added two rebounds.
- Miea Campbell-Johnson has scored in double figures five times this season.
- Ceejay Nofuente moved into eighth all-time in OCAA scoring, surpassing Erin Emery's mark of 1,067 (Durham – 2007-12).
Game Notes:
- Humber improves to 36-14 (.720) all-time against Fanshawe, including 18-8 at the North Campus Gym.
- The Hawks have recorded 15-plus steals in all nine games this season.

Humber will play its final home game of the Fall semester Nov. 29 against the UTM Eagles (2-5, 9th West). Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.
