SOLID TEAM EFFORT LEADS No. 1 BASKETBALL PAST SAULT, 93-22

ETOBICOKE, Ont -- Behind a game-high 14 points from Miea Campbell-Johnson, the No. 1 Humber Hawks (5-0, 1st West) cruised to a 93-22 win over the Sault Cougars (0-4, 11th West) Sunday afternoon at the North Campus Gym.

Ceejay Nofuente added 12 points with six rebounds, six steals, and six assists, while Aleena Domingo and Laura Meadows added ten points each.

Sault was paced offensively by Mackenzie Mazzuca with nine points and Cassidy Sabourin with five points.

Leticia Lopez opened the scoring for Humber, hitting a 3-pointer after a nice kick out pass from Ceejay Nofuente. Alexandra Cooper countered for the Cougars to bring the score within one; however, the Hawks went on a 17-3 run to end the quarter.

A quick steal and score from Felicia Velasquez began the second for Humber, as the Hawks rode eight second-quarter points from Campbell-Johnson to a 49-9 lead at the half.

For the half, Humber shot 48.8 percent (21-43) from the floor, scoring 25 first-half points off of 21 Sault turnovers.

A slow third quarter saw the Hawks score a season-low eight points on 17.6 percent (3-of-17) shooting, but Humber responded in the fourth, scoring a season-high 36 points to secure the 93-22 victory.

  • Humber improves to 14-0 all-time against the Sault Cougars.
  • For the fifth straight game, the Hawks have received 40-plus points from its bench.
  • Humber extends its win streak to 63 games against OCAA opponents.
