ETOBICOKE, Ont -- No. 1 Humber women's basketball (3-0, 1st West) returns to North Campus Saturday evening for its 2017 home opener against Sault (0-2, 11th West). Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
The Storyline
The Hawks will look to remain undefeated against Sault College; owning a 12-0 record all-time dating back to the 2011-12 OCAA season.
Last Time Out
Humber concluded its three-game road trip with a 95-59 win over St. Clair (0-1, 7th West) last Sunday. Freshman Jaime Gordon established a new career-high with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor.
Scouting Sault
The Sault Cougars opened the 2017 season with two losses to the Conestoga Condors (2-2, 4th West). Offensively, the Cougars are lead by MacKenzie Mazzuca and Mercedes Ryan, who average 9.5 and 9.0 points-per-game, respectively.
Sault enters the contest on an eight-game losing streak, with its last win coming at Cambrian Jan. 21.
Last Meeting
Last season, Humber came away with a 71-46 win at Sault College and were led by Ceejay Nofuente's 24-point, 10-steal double-double. Brooke Bellerose finished with a team-high 16 points for the Cougars in the loss.
Scouting Humber
Ranked the top program in the country, Humber is once again led by the dynamic duo of Aleena Domingo and Ceejay Nofuente. Collectively, these two all-stars have scored over 1,800 points for Humber.
The Hawks may own the most talented squad in the league, as five players currently average 9.0 points-per-game or better. In three games, Humber's bench is averaging 47 ppg.

All-Canadian Ceejay Nofuente sits 38 points away from becoming the first Humber women's basketball player to score 1,000 career points.
Chasing History
Sitting at 61 straight wins, only Algonquin – 67 straight from Nov. 5, 2011, to Jan. 15, 2015 – has put together a longer win streak in OCAA history than Humber.
The Hawks have won three-straight OCAA titles from 2014-16, one away from joining Algonquin, who won four-straight from 2011-15.
Home Is Where the Heart Is
Humber has won 30 consecutive games at the North Campus Gym. Its last loss came on Jan. 12, 2014 to Mohawk, 67-39.
At the Helm
Ajay Sharma returns to the sidelines for his seventh season and is 14 wins from tying Humber Hall of Famer Jim Henderson (1991 – 2000) as the all-time winningest head coach in program history.
Sharma has directed the Hawks to a period of unprecedented prosperity in the form of three consecutive CCAA tournament appearances – including the first national championship in program history – and three straight provincial titles. Sharma owns a 119-22 (.844) career record.
