The Storyline
No. 1 Humber men's volleyball will begin its title run Feb. 27 as they travel to Peterborough to compete in the 2020 OCAA Championship. The Hawks open the tournament against hosting Fleming Knights (10-8, 4th East). Game time is set for 6 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Hawks played their last home game of the season as they hosted the Centennial Colts in their OCAA crossover match. Freshman Joshua Fadare led the team with 12 kills and two blocks, while both Rrezart Sadiku and Jake Gomes added two aces into the mix. The final scores were 25-14, 25-14 and 25-15.

Scouting Fleming 

  • This will be the first time that the Knights and Hawks compete against each other within OCAA play.
  • Senior Joel Howes leads the Knights, ranking first in the league with 63 blocks, and a total of 187 kills. He recently set his school's career program record as well, with 270.
  • Setter Jordan Ross sits fifth in the OCAA for total assists at 511.

Humber Highlights 

  • The Hawks will enter OCAA provincials with the best winning percentage in the league, only dropping two of 56 sets throughout the 2019/20 season.
  • Humber sits first in the OCAA for an average hitting percentage of .367, led by outside attackers Rrezart Sadiku and Eduardo Silva Ferreira, who rank third and seventh for hitting percentages of .380 and .330.
  • Joshua Fadare leads the Hawks with an average of 3.9 points earned per set.

With a win, top-ranked Humber will advance to the semifinal round to play the winner of the Niagara/Georgian quarter-final match.
