17 Straight Wins For Top-Ranked Men's Volleyball

ETOBICOKE - No. 1 men's volleyball remains undefeated in the OCAA, after taking down the Redeemer Royals (11-7, 3rd West) in straight sets on Feb 13. The final scores were 25-15, 25-15, and 25-15.

The Hawks had to fight straight out of the gate while taking on the Royals, who came ready to compete. Rrezart Sadiku earned the first point with an outside kill, followed by an ace from Jake Gomes to put Humber on the right foot. Blocks by Rrezart Sadiku and Andrew Blakey rose the energy in the Hawks Nest, with a huge kill by Joshua Fadare taking the crowd on a momentum ride. Humber remained disciplined in keeping their lead throughout the sets, finalizing the scores at 25-15 and 25-14.

Maximum Crowder got the Hawks started, earning the first kill of the final set with an unbeatable middle attack. The Royals were determined to stay in the game, leaving no room for easy points, as they began to close the point gap with the Hawks. Big swings by Eduardo Silva Ferreria and Xavier Reid kept the Royals on their heels, as they began to extend their lead to nine. Huge blocks by Colin Skanes finished off the game at 25-15.

Rrezart Sadiku earned Hawk Nation player of the game, racking up eight kills, four blocks, and an ace.
