The Storyline
No. 2 Humber men's volleyball (3-0, 4th West) returns to the Hawks Nest on Nov. 15 in a battle of the birds against defending CCAA national champions, the Fanshawe Falcons (4-1, 2nd West). Game time is set for 8 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.

The Matchup
Meeting for the first time this season, both enter the match on a three-game winning streak. The Hawks trail in the regular-season series, 15-20, and have lost eight straight meetings dating back to the 2015 season.

Previous Meeting
Humber last faced the Falcons during the 2019 OCAA gold medal match, where the Hawks fought hard through five sets but came just short of the victory. The scores were 21-25, 25-18, 17-25, 25-22, and 11-15.

  • The Falcons went 18-0 last season, taking their winning streak to the top, and winning the 2019 CCAA national championship.
  • Fanshawe currently boasts a .341% hitting percentage, the highest in the OCAA.
  • Second-year James Pratt is the lead scorer for the Falcons offensively, recording 34 kills and averaging 3.1 points per set.

Kill Streak
Humber's 12.8 kills per set average is the top mark in the province. 

Freshman Phenom
Markham native Joshua Fadare leads the team with 25 kills and a 3.9 point per set average. His .357 swing percentage is the third-best mark in the league.

Service With a Smile
Third-year setter Jake Gomes continues to climb Humber's all-time service ace list, entering the match in sixth with 65 aces.

Humber volleyball will head back out on a two-match road trip on Nov. 23 beginning with Conestoga (5-1, 1st West). Game time is set for 3 p.m.
