SOFTBALL FINISHES FOURTH AT 2018 CHAMPIONSHIP

KITCHENER, Ont – The Humber softball team dropped both its games at the 2018 OCAA Championship, finishing fourth at the tournament for the third straight year. Humber's defence continued to be its Achilles heel, making seven errors on the day. For the tournament, the Hawks hit 0.274 (14-for-51), well off their season average of 0.354.

Game One: Durham 8, Humber 3
The Hawks opened the scoring in the game when Aaliyah Davidson crushed an RBI triple to deep left field, scoring Alexa Vassos.

The defending provincial champions responded in a big way, scoring eight runs in the second inning, giving the Lords an 8-1 lead.

Game Two: Fanshawe 10, Humber 2
The Falcons scored six runs to begin the game, capitalizing on four Humber errors in the opening frame before adding two more in the second inning.

Humber's freshman pitching duo of Meagan Muir and Kadyn Wotton combined to throw 6.1 innings in relief, allowing two earned runs. Despite the solid pitching performance, the Humber bats remained cold, failing to get hit with runners in scoring position.
