NORTH YORK, Ont – The Humber softball team (6-2, 2nd OCAA) jumped back in the win column Sunday afternoon, sweeping the doubleheader on the road against the Seneca Sting (0-6, 7th OCAA).
Senior Elisa Gregoris led the way for the Hawks, recording seven RBI during the twin bill.
Game One: Humber 8, Seneca 1
The Sting opened the scoring in the game before the Hawks responded with a five-run second inning. Humber used the small ball to manufacture its first two runs, then Aaliyah Davidson recorded her league-leading seventh extra-base hit to drive in Maddie Pasma. Bonnie Gillingham followed with a two-run single, giving the Hawks a 5-1 lead after two innings.
Rachel Matheson-Green went the distance for Humber, throwing seven innings, allowing one run with a season-high seven strikeouts.
Game Two: Humber 19, Seneca 0 – 3-innings
Humber came out swinging in game two, recording 19 runs in the first inning. Elisa Gregorius paced the way in the opening frame, recording 6 RBI against former Humber pitcher Amanda Van De Graaf.
Myranda Pierson recorded her second win of the season, throwing three innings of no-hit softball, recording five strikeouts in the victory.
Game Notes
- The 19-run first inning was the most by any Humber team during the Coach Bowles era.
- Elisa Gregoris now has 17 RBI in eight games, the most in the OCAA. Gregoris is three RBI away from tying her career-high of 20 set in 2016.
- Humber lowered its team ERA to 3.26, the best mark in the league.
- The Hawks improve to 23-7 all-time against the Sting.

Humber will wrap up its road trip with the annual southwest Ontario swing against the Fanshawe Falcons (3-5, 5th OCAA) and the St. Clair Saints (9-2, 1st OCAA).
