ETOBICOKE, Ont – The Humber softball program enters its third season under head coach Duaine Bowles when it hosts the Fanshawe Falcons for a doubleheader on September 8.

Fresh Faces
Humber welcomes six freshmen to the team for 2018 – all coming from the province of Ontario.

Hayley Pasma · INF · Georgetown, Ont.
Kadyn Wotton · RHP · Kitchener, Ont.
Meagan Muir · RHP · Mississauga, Ont.
Alexis Ferreira · INF · Mississauga, Ont.
Breanna Oliver · INF · Mississauga, Ont.
Hannah Koziolek · OF · Brampton, Ont.

A Pair of Aces
Humber returns two arms that finished in the top-five in earned-run average. Last season, Myranda Pierson led the league with a sparkling 1.74 ERA – the lowest mark for a Humber pitcher since Jessica O'Quinn finished the 2013 season at 1.64. Rachel Matheson-Green finished fourth in ERA and enters her third season on rubber second all-time at Humber in career ERA.

Battle for the Throne
Senior Bonnie Gillingham is Humber's all-time hits queen and enters her final season with 112 career hits. Senior outfielder Elisa Gregoris trails Gillingham by nine hits entering the season and will make a push to see who will finish their career at the top of Humber's all-time hit list.

Breakout Campaign
2017 was a good year for Humber centerfielder Aaliyah Davidson, who was named the OCAA Player of the Year. Davidson established numerous career-highs last season, including home runs (3), RBIs (28), hits (22), extra-base hits (15), and slugging percentage (.711).

Notable 2017 performances for Davidson included a six-game hit streak where she collected nine hits, five of which went for extra-bases. On October 17 against Mohawk, Davidson drove in six runs, one shy of the OCAA single-game record.

Looking Ahead
Humber opens its 2018 campaign by hosting Fanshawe on September 8. The Hawks are 4-4 against the Falcons during the Coach Bowles era, including two five-inning mercies last season.

Humber will then head on the road to play Mohawk (Sept. 9), Durham (Sept. 12), Seneca (Sept. 16), Fanshawe (Sept. 22), and St. Clair (Sept. 23) before returning to the friendly confines of Connorvale Park Sept. 27 against Mohawk.

Saturday's doubleheader will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network, beginning at 1 p.m.
