Watt, McCallum Earn Humber Student-Athlete of the Week Honours

ETOBICOKE – Golfer's Hayley McCallum and Connor Watt have earned Humber Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honours for the week of Sept. 30 - Oct. 6.

For the second time this season, Hayley McCallum has received AOTW honours. McCallum led No. 3 Humber to its tenth OCAA golf title, beating Fanshawe by 29 strokes. 

McCallum was tied for first after day one and used a tournament-low 79 during round two to take the lead for good to capture the OCAA individual title. It was Humber's first OCAA individual title since 2014, and McCallum was named a CCAA All-Canadian for the second straight year.

Fifth-year golfer Conner Watt led No. 2 Humber to its third straight OCAA team championship. The Hawks beat Fanshawe by 12 strokes to capture the 22nd provincial title in program history, and Conner Watt's three-round total of 212 secured him the individual silver medal. The 2017 individual champion won his third straight team title and second individual medal and was selected as a CCAA All-Canadian for the second time.

Humber golf will now turn its focus to the CCAA national championship Oct. 15-18 at Continental Golf Club in Quebec.
