Humber Reveals Plans for Annual Alumni and Family Week

ETOBICOKE – In celebration of the 52nd season of Humber Varsity, the department of athletics and recreation is gearing up for its annual Alumni and Family Weekend at Humber College, which takes place Sept. 19 – 22, 2019.

The four-day event will see returning alumni, current student-athletes, staff, family and friends enjoy events that bring together lifelong friends, celebrate Humber's athletic excellence, and provide a nostalgic return to the Humber community. Major events will include multiple alumni games, the Family Night Gala, and Humber varsity events.

"Humber Athletics has been the home for thousands of student-athletes who continue to demonstrate exceptional leadership, across the country and around the world," said Ray Chateau, Humber's Director of Athletics and Recreation.

"Each Fall, Alumni Weekend draws many of them back to Humber to reconnect with their fellow classmates and honour their time as a Hawk. We welcome them to come home, see the numerous changes on campus and to take in some of our events," he said.

EVENT LINEUP:

Thurs. Sept. 19

Baseball Alumni Slo-Pitch Game
Time: 8:00 p.m.
Location: Connorvale Park
Details: The baseball slo-pitch game will return to Alumni Weekend and the 7-inning game will see a mix of current players and alumni on both teams.

Fri. Sept. 20

Men's Rugby vs. Mohawk Mountaineers
Time: 4:30 p.m.
Location: Humber Valley Field

Family Night
Time: 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Location: North Campus Gym
Details: The evening will begin with registration, with games and raffles taking place as players, alumni, and family socialize. After the traditional game of 'Heads & Tails', fourth and fifth-year student-athletes will receive their athletic service rings.

Humber Athletics will honour its 2018-19 National Champions: women's doubles badminton, men's singles badminton, men's soccer and men's baseball.

Sat. Sept. 21

Alumni Games
Time: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Location: North Campus Gym
On Saturday, Humber basketball and volleyball will hold their annual alumni games, with the women's basketball and volleyball teams kicking off the event at 2 p.m. The men's games will follow at approximately 4 p.m.

Varsity Games
Baseball vs. St. Clair
Time: 1 p.m.
Location: Connorvale Park
Humber men's baseball will unveil its 2018 championship banners during a pregame ceremony before playing the St. Clair Saints.
On Sunday, the Hawks will host the Fanshawe Falcons to wrap up the weekend.

Softball vs. St. Clair
Time: 5 p.m. & 7 p.m.
Location: Connorvale Park
Humber softball will host the St. Clair Saints and will honour the 2012 and 2013 OCAA championship teams in a pregame ceremony.
