Cross Country Finishes Fourth at First Race of 2019
WINDSOR – Humber cross country opened the 2019 season on Sept. 14 at Malden Park in Windsor, with both teams finishing in fourth place. Maiden Park is the home of the 2019 OCAA Cross Country Championship on Oct. 26.
The women's team, running in the six-kilometre race, picked up 66 points – finishing one-point shy of a top-three finish. Second-year runner Kayleigh Bush paced the way for the Hawks, finishing in 12th place with a time of 26:27.9 – 2:38.7 off of the first-place time. Freshman teammates Megan Raso and Montana Wilkins finished close behind, placing 14th and 15th, respectively.

The men's team also snagged a fourth-place finish in their season debut, falling 36 points behind Sheridan for a third-place finish. Freshman Addison Nixon paced the way for the Hawks, finishing in 15th place and 68 seconds shy of a top-ten finish. Senior Cole Czuchnicki rounded out Humber's top-20 finishers, placing 19th overall in the eight-kilometre race.
