CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS OPEN SEASON IN LONDON AT FANSHAWE INVITATIONAL

By: D. Dupuis

LONDON, Ont. – Humber College's Cross Country team begins their 2018 OCAA season. Saturday, September 15, at the well-known Fanshawe Invitational.

This course is no surprise to many of the returning athletes, making it a great first meet of the season. Power duo, led by All-Canadian Kaitlin Shuvera and Katelyn Morgan, look to leave their mark at the first meet of the season. Shuvera finishing fourth at last year's OCAA Championship hosted by Fanshawe.

On the men's side, returning athlete Aaron Veenstra – new captain to the men's cross country team is ready to show Humber he can step up to the line, and lead the team. With only a few returning athletes there will be a lot of fresh faces this upcoming season.

On the coaching side, there has been a significant change. Former CCAA National Cross Country Coach of the Year Monique Haan has stepped down, and the leadership now solely rests in the very capable hands of Co-Head Coach Teresa Arnini. Arnini, also the head of the Strength & Conditioning Department at Humber, has been a key factor in the many many successes of both the women's and men's teams.

These are the student-athletes that will be representing the Hawks this weekend in London:
