Women's Volleyball Welcomes No. 4 Fanshawe Friday

The Storyline
Humber women's volleyball (2-1, 5th West) returns to the North Campus Gym Nov. 15 to take on No. 4 Fanshawe (5-0, 1st West). Game time is set for 6 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.

The Matchup
Dating back to 1988, Humber owns a 28-3 record against Fanshawe in the regular-season. After winning 27 consecutive matches against the Falcons, the Hawks have lost their last two meetings.

Last Time Out
Humber last saw Fanshawe in the 2019 OCAA semifinal, where the birds competed in a nail-biting five-set match falling short of the victory with final scores of 9-25, 25-21, 25-19, 9-25 and 9-15. The leading scorer for the Hawks was Julia Watson, with 13 kills and three aces.

Scouting Fanshawe

• Fanshawe captured the CCAA bronze medal last season.
• 2019 CCAA Player of the Year Janelle Albert continues to lead the Falcons, with 70 kills and an average of 5.9 points per set.
• Fanshawe runs the OCAA in offensive play, leading the league in both kills per set (12.47) and hitting percentage (.336).

Block Party
Third-year transfer Shiann Williams currently ranks first in the OCAA in blocks (21) and blocks per set (1.75). She also enters as Humber's leading scorer at 3.8 points per set.

Can You Dig It?
Freshman libero Alex Lachapelle is averaging 5.58 digs per set – the top mark in the conference.

Dishin' Dimes
Captain Alex Bartmann continues to inch closer to Humber's all-time assist record of 772 - set by Brittany Vanderlaan (2014-16). The Uxbridge native needs 68 assists to sit first all-time in program history.

What's Next?
Humber volleyball will head back out on a two-match road trip on Nov. 23 beginning with Conestoga (2-4, 6th West). Game time is set for 1 p.m.
