Etobicoke, ON: The Humber Hawks women's volleyball team is preparing to host OCAA rival St.Clair at home, on January 12th, in what will be their second OCAA match of 2019.

REGULAR SEASON HISTORY VS ST. CLAIR:

Humber holds a 28-8 all time ratio over the Saints going into this home game. The Hawks have only lost to St. Clair four times at home.

 

LAST TIME OUT VS ST. CLAIR:

Both teams last saw each other during the beginning of November. In this match, the Saints beat the Hawks in an intense three set match. This lose was Humber's first league loss in eight seasons. Right side Julia Watson led the Hawks with 12 kills, while Hayley Henderson and Alex Krstonosic had 6 and 5 kills respectively.

  • Coming into the 2019 season, the Saints have a recorded 321 kills, ranking 5th in the OCAA.
  • Right Side Te-Anna Stephenson currently leads the OCAA in points per set, averaging a solid 4.9.
  • St. Clair coach, Jimmy El-Turk, has been named to coach Team Ontario through the 2021 Canada Games.
  • The Saints are currently riding along a 6 game win streak

  • The Hawks opened their 2019 season with an impressive three set sweep over Sheridan College.
  • Captain Kyla Wilkins sits no. 1 in the OCAA for digs this season, with 129. Along with that, she also ranks second in the OCAA for digs per set, with an average of 4.16.
  • As a team, the Hawks Average 15.75 digs per set and have 504 digs in total. This ranks them first in the OCAA in both categories.

  • Kyla Wilkins continues to extend the Humber Varsity record for digs in a career. Now at 541 digs, this fifth year Libero is now only 10 digs away from surpassing Laura Bye's old record of 451 by 100 digs.
  • Head coach Chris Wilkins continues to hold the record for most wins as a Humber Varsity Coach, extending his record to 349 victories following January 10ths victory over Sheridan.
