ETOBICOKE, ON: After a successful home opener against the Redeemer Royals, the Hawks will travel to Sudbury this coming weekend for two league games. First, they play Cambrian College on the 3rd, then they'll make their way to Boréal to compete against the Vipers on the 4th

LAST TIME OUT VS CAMBRIAN

The last time the Hawks faced Cambrian was in February of the 17/18 season. The women played a very close match, squeezing out with a win of 3-1. (24-26, 25-23, 26-24, 25-19) 

SCOUTING CAMBRIAN

  • They are currently 0-1 after losing a tough 3-0 match to Sheridan
  • Their team is comprised of 13 players, 9 of which are rookies
  • Head Coach Dale Beausoleil, now in his 28th year, is the longest-serving head coach in OCAA women's volleyball 
  • Cambrian has the best record in history vs the Hawks, with Humber leading the series 14-8

LAST TIME OUT VS BOREAL

The Hawks have not seen the Vipers since February 10th at Boréal. Here they crushed their opponents, winning 3-0. Julia Watson was the top scorer with an impressive 12 kills. (25-6, 25-20, 25-10) 

SCOUTING BOREAL

  • They are currently 0-1 after losing a tough 3-0 match to Sheridan
  • Their team is comprised of 14 players, 6 of which are rookies
  • Head Coach Frank Legault is in his first year with the Vipers 
  • Boreal has never defeated the Hawks, as Humber leads the all-time series 16-0

 

HAWK NOTES

  • The Hawks are currently 1-0, after beating Redeemer at home to open the season
  • Their current OCAA league and playoff win streak is now 153 wins
  • Julia Watson #8, Alex Krstonosic #7 and Hayley Henderson #13 all earned 7 kills against Redeemer last Thursday 

HISTORY WATCH

  • Captain Kyla Wilkins added 15 digs under her belt, extending her overall career digs to 427. This places her just 11 digs from moving into second place for most digs in a Humber Varsity career. She is set to achieve this during this coming weekend
  • Head Coach Chris Wilkins, who took over the Humber all-time coaching wins mark last year, now sits at 342-43 for his career, an incredible .888 winning percentage
