HENDERSON SET TO JOIN DEFENDING OCAA CHAMPIONS

ETOBICOKE, Ont -- The Humber women's volleyball program is pleased to announce the signing of left side Hayley Henderson for the upcoming 2018-19 varsity season, announced head coach Chris Wilkins.

Henderson, a five-foot-eight outside hitter from Burlington, Ont., joins the Hawks after playing with the Mountain Volleyball Club and the Burlington Central Trojans. With the Trojans, Henderson was named a junior team MVP in 2016, and the senior team MVP the following year. She was also named a 2018 senior HDSB Halton All-Star.

"Hayley is an all-around player," said Coach Wilkins, who in 17 seasons owns a 341-43 career record at Humber. "She sees the court well and loves to play the game of volleyball."

Henderson plays beach volleyball, as well, capturing the bronze medal at the 18U provincials in 2016.

"I wanted to be a part of a championship team," said Henderson when asked why she chose Humber College. "Starting with the coach, there is a championship environment at Humber that I wanted to join."

Henderson has enrolled in the Bachelor of Health Sciences – Workplace Health and Wellness program, a four-year honours degree at Humber College.

"The coaches are looking forward to watching her make an impact right away and challenge for a position on the outside – which is filled with talent," added Coach Wilkins.

Henderson will join incoming recruits Lauren Schneider, Danae Campana and Karlee Manella for the upcoming 2018-19 OCAA varsity season.
