ALL-STAR SETTER LAUREN SCHNEIDER JOINS HUMBER VOLLEYBALL

ETOBICOKE, Ont -- The Humber women's volleyball program is pleased to announce the signing of all-star setter Lauren Schneider, announced head coach Chris Wilkins.

A native of Concord, Ont., Schneider will join the Hawks upon graduation from Stephen Lewis Secondary School, where she was the team captain of the Lynx and three-time York Region District School Board all-star.

"I'm excited to have Lauren join our program," said Coach Wilkins, the all-time winningest coach in Humber Athletics history. "She will provide depth to a key position on our team."

At the club level, Schneider has captured two national silver medals and three provincial titles. Competing for the Reach Volleyball club in Richmond Hill, Schneider and her teammates recently won the OVA 18U Division II Ontario Championship.

"Lauren is a creative setter that will complement our potent offence and help make her hitters better," added Coach Wilkins. "She has a love of the game and will continue to get better as she grows with the program."

This Fall, Schneider will be taking the Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology at the University of Guelph-Humber.

"I really felt like the school was a perfect fit for me," said Schneider when asked why she chose UGH. "I was really impressed with the curriculum and eventually I'd like to get a job in the psychology field."

Schneider will join incoming recruits Danae Campana and Karlee Manella for the upcoming 2018-19 OCAA varsity season.
