HAMILTON, Ont. – The No. 2 Humber Hawks women's volleyball team finished their regular season undefeated with an 18-0 record on Wednesday against Mohawk (9-9, 5th West) at the David Braley Centre.

Humber began the first set collectively playing well with a high level of focus. Humber was passing exceptionally well and were executing on offence especially, out of the left-side.

Left-side Devan O'Connor led the match in kills with a total of eight, followed by Brynne Coleman who finished with six.

The Hawks were playing good defence as well, which allowed them to transition balls back to Mohawk. Hawks took set one, 25-17.

The second set started off strong for the Hawks, with much tougher serves. First-year setter, Celine Blanchette tied O'Connor with the most aces for the match at a total of four each.

Humber was up 18-10, when Mohawk began to gain momentum on their side. The Hawks struggled to pick up tips on defence, and allowed Mohawk back into the game.

The Hawks managed to pass a bit better and side out, to end the game 25-23.

The women were determined to come back out stronger in the third set and play a full controlled set. They passed well, and were back to defending well, and stayed on top of the Mountaineers for the entire set winning 25-11.

Humber is off until they begin their road to what they hope to be their 10th consecutive provincial championship title in Windsor at St. Clair College starting on Friday, February 24, 2017.
